CFNKLS accepts donations of any size. On this page you will find advice on the variety of ways that you can support CFNKLS and build our endowment funds. All donations to our endowment funds are tax deductible.
We have a number of funds where you can choose to direct your donation. Most of our funds are invested in our General Endowment Fund which allows us to make grants to a wide range of community groups depending on their needs. In addition to our general endowment fund, we operate a number of field of interest funds including:
- Environment Fund
- Children, Youth and Families Fund
- Arts, Culture and Heritage Fund
- Seniors’ Fund
- Treasure Hunt Fund

Monthly contributions are a great way to put aside a little money each month towards CFNKLS. We can set up an automatic monthly debit program that lasts only as long as you would like. If you are interested in setting up a monthly donation, please complete the Autopay Form. Please print off this form and mail it with a void cheque to CFNKLS at Box 661, Kaslo, BC, V0G 1M0.
The funding for our operating expenses comes from membership fees and a portion of the administration fee rebate from The Vancouver Foundation.
Memberships
Memberships now fall into four categories.
One year $15
Two years $20
Three years $25
Lifetime $50
Furthermore, donors of more than $20 per year to any of CFNKLS endowment funds automatically entitles the donor to a one year membership in CFNKLS for that year.
One year memberships (if not renewed) expire at the end of the AGM following the date they are taken out.
Memberships are payable to the Community Fund of North Kootenay Lake. They are not eligible for charitable donations. They fund the administrative work of the society.
Donations to the CFNKLS endowment funds are payable to the Osprey Foundation. These do garner charitable receipts in full.
